Benefits Of Rotary Pressure Sensitive Labeling Machine

Enhanced Efficiency

Rotary labeling machines exhibit a remarkable advantage when it comes to speed and throughput. Unlike linear machines that label one container at a time, rotary machines operate on a continuous rotary platform, can allow simultaneous labeling of multiple containers.

Precise and Consistent Label Application

One of the notable drawbacks of linear labeling machine is the potential for label misalignment or skewing. Rotary machines eliminate this concern with their consistent and accurate label application. The rotating mechanism ensures labels are affixed precisely to containers, regardless of their shape or size.

Flexibility for Different Label Types

Rotary labeling machines seamlessly accommodate various label types, Like top, neck & body labels. This versatility enables businesses to cater to diverse product lines & packaging requirements without the need for multiple labeling systems.

Reduced Labor Dependency

Linear labeling solutions often involve manual placement of containers, which can be labor-intensive and time-consuming. Rotary machines, on the other hand, eliminate much of the manual labor by automatically feeding and labeling containers as they rotate.

Seamless Integration with Production Lines

Rotary labeling machines can be easily integrated into existing production lines, streamlining the packaging process without necessitating major modifications. This adaptability ensures a smooth transition to the new technology, minimizing downtime and disruptions.

Potential for High-Speed Labeling

For businesses that require extremely high labeling speeds, rotary labeling machines offer a compelling advantage. Their rotary design enables faster labeling cycles, making them an ideal choice for industries where rapid production is a priority.

How a Rotary Pressure Sensitive Labeling Machine works

The roll of labels is put on to an Indexing Reel. The label strip is unwound from the roll and fed through series of self-tensioning idler arms to the Peel Plate and then to a Take-Up Reel (this creates a web). The labeler is powered up and indexed so it is ready to perform the labeling process. The first indexed label is moved over a Peel Plate that is shaped in a point, the backing material when indexed over the point of the Peel Plate releases the label. The label is now “Flagged” meaning sticking out past the Peel Plate ready for the self-adhesive back of the label to contact the bottle. The bottles come into the labeler from an In-feed Conveyor and are transferred from the conveyor to a Rotating Turret that has Bottle Plate which supports the bottom and a Spindle with a Centering Bell which supports the top of the bottle. As the bottles rotate through the labeler, they come to the Labeling Station which has the “Flagged” Label waiting to contact the bottle. When the bottle comes in contact with the waiting label, the label is indexed to match the speed of the bottle and the self-adhesive glue on the back of the label sticks to the bottle. After the bottle rotates through the labeling station and has the self-adhesive label attached, a series of brushes and/or rollers apply pressure to the label and the label sticks to the bottle.

Cleaning and Lubrication

Cleanliness is Key
Over time, dust, debris, and adhesive residues can build up and impair the machine’s functionality. Maintain the labeling machine by paying careful attention to the rollers, conveyors, and labeling heads.

Lubricate Moving Parts
Ensure all moving components, including bearings and chains, are properly oiled. This lowers the possibility of malfunctions by preventing wear and tear brought on by friction.

Inspection of Wear Parts

Replace Worn-out Parts
Inspect worn parts like belts, gears, and drive chains regularly. Replace any components showing signs of wear promptly to prevent unexpected failures.

Check Tension Levels
Maintain proper tension in belts and chains to avoid slippage or breakage, which can disrupt the labeling process.

Verification of Alignment
Ensure that labeling heads and sensors are correctly aligned. Misalignment can result in skewed labels or misapplication. Regularly verify optical sensors’ alignment to guarantee accurate label placement.

Software and Firm Updates
Keep labeling machine software and firmware up-to-date. Manufacturers release updates to address bugs, improve functionality, or introduce new features. Regularly check for updates & follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for installations.

Calibration Checks
Calibrate label sensors periodically to maintain accuracy in label detection. Incorrect sensor calibration can lead to issues like double labeling or missed labels during application.

FAQ

Q: What are pressure sensitive labels used for?

A: These versatile labels serve numerous industries for product labeling, packaging, and branding. A pressure-sensitive label consists of three primary layers: the face stock, adhesive, and liner. The face stock forms the top layer where product information and graphics appear.

Q: What is the difference between cut and stack and pressure sensitive labels?

A: Cut and stack labels are simply labels printed on large sheets and then (you guessed it) cut and stacked. While on pressure-sensitive labels, the adhesive is applied on the entirety of the label, these labels only have adhesive or glue on a portion that is appropriate for the application.

Q: What are the benefits of sensitivity labels?

A: By adding data sensitivity labels to emails, you enhance your data security when service representatives classify and protect sensitive information. This feature enables secure collaboration, reduces the risk of data breaches, and offers customization flexibility for managing different types of sensitive information.

Q: What is the difference between pressure sensitive and pressure tolerant?

A: These pressure-tolerant areas might turn red with pressure, that will subside when the prosthesis is taken off, but no skin breakdown occurs. Pressure-sensitive areas have a high probability of skin breakdown. No redness should occur in the pressure-sensitive areas.

Q: How are pressure sensitive labels made?

A: Pressure-sensitive label stock is made up of three main parts: the face stock (in our case, we supply metallized paper face stock), an adhesive layer in the middle and the liner.
